The Specialist Insurance Leader will focus on exceeding income and retention targets in the Educational market. The main focus of the role is to grow market share in the Education market through advised selling of commercial lines products to Schools, Universities, Colleges and Private Accomodation providers. The Specialist Insurance Leader will provide insurance advice to clients and model effective protection through the provision of appropriate insurance products. The Specialist Insurance Leader will also be responsible for: • Prospecting and securing new Education clients and ensuring the successful on-boarding of new clients • Making presentations to outside commercial organisations and attending new business and renewal meetings with clients • Attending relevant key conferences to generate new opportunities. • Working with marketing to develop and execute plans to support the delivery of income targets. • Responsibility for team of Sales Account Managers and Sales Account Executives, instilling a performance culture within team, developing and inspiring ongoing performance improvements. • Providing accurate sales forecasts to Head of Specialist Division using pipeline reporting. • Relationship Management of high value and/ or strategic existing clients, collaborating with Service and Renewals to deliver an exceptional customer experience. • Building and maintaining durable relationships with key industry contacts. • To treat customers fairly at all times in adherence with the FCA TCF principles. • Identifying opportunities for leads to other areas of B2B, providing introductions and supporting the cross-sell process.


The Specialist Insurance Leader will have significant commercial insurance experience that can be utilised to aid in achieving individual and team targets, whilst also aiding to coach others and constructively challenging when needed. The Specialist Insurance Leader will also have: • Excellent leadership ability, built on a depth of experience of leading teams • Strong technical knowledge of insurance gained in a Broker or Insurance company environment. • DIPCII qualification • Experience of dealing with third parties with the ability to develop long term relationships. • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both orally and visually and ability to effectively present to all levels within a business, both external and internal • Strong stakeholder management skills. • Ability to understand people and build rapport, adapt styles of communication accordingly. • The ability to manage own diary and workload effectively and work to tight deadlines with accuracy of work • Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills • Ability to spot and identify opportunities for cross-selling • Ability to use a CRM tool (preferably Salesforce) effectively from both an opportunity management and reporting perspective.
